Knowledge empowers.
Many woman do not seek treatment for their condition as they fear stigma from their communities and sometimes even their own families. Others fear the treatment process itself. To date, more than 800 patients have gone on the journey to overcome their cancers. We are learning that these women are bringing their stories and experiences back to their communities. As a result, even more women are seeking to be funded by Road to Care to receive treatment in Kampala.
To help patients alleviate fear and know what to expect from the time they leave their home through to the end of their treatment, Road to Care put together a storybook documenting the journey. We are sharing this resource with our supporters, so you can follow along and see the journey that each of these brave women undertake.
